This course is designed for learners who wish to explore key works of British and American literature and use reading as a means of developing their English language skills. Throughout the course, participants work with authentic literary texts, expand their active vocabulary, improve pronunciation, and develop spoken fluency through guided discussions of the readings. The course is suitable for learners who already have basic knowledge of English grammar and vocabulary but wish to increase their fluency and confidence in spoken communication. Emphasis is placed on reading comprehension, text interpretation, and the ability to express personal opinions in English. The course is taught by an experienced instructor who is proficient in several languages (English, Finnish, Swedish, and Russian), allowing for a flexible and learner-aware approach to instruction. The primary focus of the course is on developing spoken fluency, expanding active vocabulary, and using English in real-life communicative situations. The course is intended for adult learners seeking to enhance their conversational English skills for academic, professional, or everyday purposes.
