Finnish Language is the key to life in Finland, to communicating with neighbors, and to understanding the culture of this unique northern country. This course is designed for beginners. The teaching is based on the textbook ” Suomea suomeksi” https://helmet.finna.fi/Record/helmet.2162099?sid=5393728669 and ” Suomen mestari 1, suomen kielen oppikirja aikuisille”: https://helmet.finna.fi/Record/helmet.1950469 In our course, you will learn the basics of Finnish under the guidance of an experienced teacher who can explain topics in several languages, including Russian. We will practice correct pronunciation, learn to read and understand texts, study basic grammar, and develop communication skills in Finnish. The course is suitable for anyone who has already learned the basics of Finnish and wants to build confidence and strengthen their language skills. The teacher is a qualified professional with 20 years of experience in language teaching in Finland. The course is conducted as in-person instruction. It takes place in central Helsinki at Oodi Library. The course takes place on Wednesdays, from 20:00 to 20:55, on the following dates: 19.8., 26.8., 2.9., 9.9., 16.9., 23.9, 30.9., 7.10.2026.
